Testimonial
My name is Peter Max and I am an Australian citizen.
Several years ago I was having coffee with a friend and we were talking about giving back and we agreed it is very hard to find a genuine and worthy way to get involved, and to offer financial support.
She (Cathy) said her brother had been a priest in Vietnam and through him she became exposed to a lovely orphanage that was doing real down-to-earth work. I looked into it as best I could from Melbourne and started putting them on my list to donate to once a month. After several years of donating, I went to Vietnam to see them. Well… what I saw brought me to tears. Such a wonderful place – 73 children, all broken and with all sorts of mental or physical serious problems (some with both) and some suffering the effects of agent orange. It was just overwhelming, and all cared for by just a Nun and a Brother and 2 helpers. Just unbelievable. They get out of bed at 4:30 every morning and take about 33 kids to church for mass every day. There are only 33 that can manage to come to church as the others are too badly disabled. Every day their day starts like this, and it just keeps on going, looking after the kids and cooking and cleaning. It just keeps on going. These people are saints, there is no rest for them. I could not do what they do and they just keep doing it 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, year in and year out.
When I was there they were taking the kids on a picnic. A friend has a little taxi and as you can see in the photos they squeezed 25 kids into the taxi. The taxi driver did not charge the orphanage. The kids just love getting out, as you can imagine. The taxi did 2 trips as there were 50 kids going to the picnic in the park, plus transporting the food, all in this little taxi. They were all so so happy!
I have seen this all with my own eyes. Please help these fantastic people doing this wonderful work for all these needy kids. A donation would really help them a lot regardless of how small or large, it all helps them.
Sometimes they do not have enough to eat and I said to them: “what do you do then?” They said I go to family and friends and ask them for help.
These people need YOU to contribute to help them continue this work and every cent you give will go directly to them and they need every cent you can give.
Please think about it – you can donate via your own internet banking as I do every month.
Peter
